The booming
district of
Altstetten

Live in an up-and-coming district

For a long time, District 9 stood in the shadow of the trendy Districts 4 and 5 and the tasteful Seefeld district. But Altstetten – with 36,000 residents, making it one of the most populous districts in Zurich – is undergoing a transformation. Numerous new construction projects, forward-looking site repurposing and a steadily growing range of dining, leisure and shopping options are giving Altstetten a huge boost as a residential and commercial location.

Between Letzigrund and Letzipark

Where workshops and factory halls once stood, innovative architecture and urban living spaces are now emerging. Baslerstrasse, which runs through the district, has become an important axis. ALTO is one of numerous high-rise projects that will be realized here in the coming years and shape Altstetten’s new skyline.

ALTO is located at the corner of Freihofstrasse and Baslerstrasse – a stone’s throw from Letzigrund Stadium and not far from the Letzipark shopping centre.

ALTO offers you the prospect of both tranquility and vibrancy

The iconic Letzigraben lido designed by Max Frisch, the football stadium with its sporting events and major concerts, the former SBB Werkstätte now home to innovative businesses, and the weekly market on Lindenplatz – there’s plenty going on in vibrant District 9. Right next door is District 4 with its fantastic nightlife – and you can quickly reach the banks of the Limmat via the Hardbrücke bridge.

In short, Altstetten offers everything you could wish for, be it tranquillity and relaxation or liveliness and vibrant city life.

Catering for every taste

Diversity also extends to food in Altstetten, including innovative gastronomic concepts such as street food at the trendy MICAS Garden, as well as exotic hidden gems like the Coconut Indian take-away, local pubs and a gourmet kebab restaurant – not to mention the ALTO Stadtloggia, of course. As a new district centre, the latter is sure to attract young and old, offering not only events but also unique culinary delights.

ALTO is an ideal starting point for foodie excursions through the cuisines of the world, which are just around the corner.
